APC Microsoft Educators conducted a seminar titled “Skype-a-thon” last November 06, 2019, at the Microsoft Experience Room (Room 218) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event aimed to provide and equip SHS students with experience and knowledge in digital technology for their future careers.
Skype-a-thon is an annual event that was launched in 2014 by Microsoft Educators from around the world. The goal was to engage with students even from afar and to teach them how to have empathy and compassion. This year, the primary goal of the event was to provide students with exposure to different talks delivered by Microsoft industry professionals themselves.
The students engaged in a video call conference with Microsoft Philippines HR Lead Jan Philippe Tanchi. His talk included various topics under his professional career. He provided tips for students in preparation for their future professions.
He emphasized the importance of optimism in life, reminding the audience that bumps are part of the road to success. He also gave significance to humility, highlighting its value when one reaches success. The talk ended with an open forum wherein students asked Tanchi their questions and inquiries.
