Fun, games, music, and dancing – these are activities that young RAMs love to do. In the ‘acquaintance party’ conducted last August 23, 2019, high school students from Grade 11 and 12 created many nostalgic memories through the retro-themed “Rams! At The Disco” setup.
APC DC gives a surprise performance during the SHS Acquaintance Party
The event kicked off at 5:00 p.m. with a game called “Step Up!” Students were asked a series of yes or no questions. For every yes, they were required to step toward the center so that the organizers could group them in teams of 15.
SHS students give their all in the “dance-off”
The group formation was followed by the second game called “Bust A Move.” Every team had to listen to an ’80s song for 30 seconds before executing their dance moves for 2 to 3 minutes. Everyone stepped out of their comfort zones in order to dance. Group 8 came out as victors. They were chosen by the judges who consisted of the SHS Faculty. They were given Stik-Os as prizes. The eliminated groups got bags of chips. All teams cheerfully had their photos taken at the photo booth.
The “Open Stage” showcased the singing and dancing skills of senior high school students. The following students wowed the audience with their outstanding performances.
• Steph Pastor – How Deep Is Your Love
• Kyra Macariola and Jeremiah Reyes – Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now
• Christina Gumba – Somewhere Over The Rainbow
• Cyrus Manglicmot – rendered a dance performance
The party concluded with the live performances of the SHS Faculty and the APC Band called “Arys in Wonderland.” Both groups sang well-known hits from the ’80s that encouraged all students to cheerfully dance and sing along.
